CARTONPLAST CLOSES INFRASTRUCTURE REFINANCING TO SUPPORT ITS CONTINUED DEVELOPMENT

Dietzenbach, 16 April 2026

Cartonplast has successfully secured new financing on the infrastructure market. Cartonplast is a portfolio company of DBAG Fund VII, advised by Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (DBAG).

The new €230 million financing package reflects the company's infrastructure profile and supports its continued development. Institutional investors participated in the transaction alongside banks providing infrastructure finance.

Long-term financing structure

The long-term refinancing has improved Cartonplast's maturity profile and increased financial flexibility, providing additional scope for strategic and operational initiatives.

The financing structure reflects the confidence of the financing partners in the company's business model, market position, and long-term development prospects.

Established position in the reusable transport packaging market

Cartonplast operates a pooling system for reusable plastic layer pads, which are used primarily for the transport of food and beverage containers.

To support these activities, the company manages a pool of approximately 60 million layer pads and operates a network of 21 service centers and 40 wash lines.

Cartonplast has established a closed-loop logistics system within its customers' value chains, including the provision, collection, sorting, cleaning, and redistribution of layer pads.

"The successful refinancing in the infrastructure market reflects the strength of Cartonplast's business model and the long-term relationships the company has built with its customers and financing partners," said Serkan Koray, CEO of Cartonplast.

Next development phase

The refinancing provides a basis for the next phase of Cartonplast's development.

Key priorities include further geographical expansion and the continued development of the product and service portfolio. This includes expansion into adjacent reusable transport packaging segments, such as pallets, as well as the extension of layer pad applications within the can industry.

The financing structure supports this strategic direction and contributes to the further development of Cartonplast as an international service platform for reusable transport packaging systems.
