CPL Iberia Welcomes MITERD Delegation to Its Parla Plant

Parla, Spain – February 4, 2025

Cartonplast Iberia had the honor of welcoming representatives from the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITERD) to its Parla plant, where they explored innovative reusable transport packaging solutions that align with the ambitious Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) reuse targets for the coming years.

During the visit, MITERD officials had the opportunity to gain in-depth insights into Cartonplast’s closed-loop pooling model, which focuses on the efficient reuse of layer pads and pallets within supply chains. The delegation observed how these sustainable transport packaging solutions contribute to waste reduction, resource efficiency, and the circular economy—key pillars of the European Union’s environmental policies.

Driving Sustainability Through Innovation

At Cartonplast, sustainability is at the core of our operations. Our reusable layer pads and pallets are designed to replace single-use materials, extending product lifecycles, and significantly reducing the environmental footprint of supply chains. By offering a pooling system that ensures the continuous circulation of packaging materials, Cartonplast not only supports waste prevention but also delivers cost-effective and reliable transport solutions for industries such as food & beverages and pharmaceuticals.

The visit provided a platform for valuable discussions on the role of reusable packaging in achieving PPWR objectives, as well as the broader implications of sustainable packaging policies for businesses and stakeholders across the supply chain.

A Commitment to a Greener Future

We extend our sincere gratitude to MITERD for their engagement and interest in our sustainability-driven solutions. As the European regulatory landscape evolves to prioritize reuse over disposal, Cartonplast remains committed to leading the transition toward a circular packaging economy.

With innovation and collaboration, we are confident that reusable transport packaging will play a critical role in achieving environmental goals and driving sustainable industry practices.
